If you trade vokoun you migh as well signal you are done for the season. On the other hand neuvy as part of package to columbus for a center makes sense and bring up holtby. Sign vokoun for 3million for one more year |

Carter would probably be better on the wing on a line with Backstrum or Johanson |

Steven Hindle: Could McPhee Shop a Goalie?
- Could McPhee Shop a Goalie? - Sven_119H
Saw Holtby play last weekend against WB/S. Majority of the time he was in the correct position to make a save and he seemed to direct any rebounds that he gave up to the corners. All around solid. Obviously this a very small window of observation but I think he would benefit being the back up for a year and getting 15-20 starts next year. |

if they are selling everything off they well need a goal scorer why not try him for the rest of the year if they dont like him let him walk and if they like him they can try and sign him and well get him cheeper then nash and he could be awesome with there young centers. . . there rid of carters contract and got a goalie out of it. |

That is a horrible use of assets and you know damn well Semin wouldn't be re-signing there. Unless some how he and Yakupov are best friends. |

Considering that our center depth is weak, we have no top-6 centers outside of Backstrom, who may or not return this year, considering that vermette is an obvious upgrade over any of our other centers at 2C and probably better at any bottom-6 role, etc, etc |

Big 2 points Friday followed by a mediocre effort Saturday against a team (Tampa) which obviously has talent but has determined itself to be seller (I assume, since they unloaded Kubina/Moore). Caps might sneak in, but the lack of offense will make them a quick out in the playoffs. |

Tonight was reminiscent of the end of the Boudreau era, the kind of performance which makes you think "seller" rather than pretend that this season is salvageable. The sad thing is that the East, after the Top 5, is so bad that the Caps might be in it until the end, even with this type of performance occurring regularly.

Yeah, it's tough to be on the boarderline. Now fading, they put more pressure on GMGM to consider a trade to shake things up. Coaching isn't the issue...for some reason the players are lacking bite to go with the bark. I'm getting tired of the players shrugging their shoulders saying they know they need to do better and stop making mistakes. This team seems to have more passengers than last year's team. I get that they have been banged up and without Backs and Green for a long time, but the rest of the group needs to step up. This team looks good on paper, but they are not bringing it on the ice. |
